Pedaling for the Planet
My 15th Climate Ride
Dennis Desmarais
April 2025
Fifteen years. 1,500 miles. 150+ towns. One goal: a cleaner, healthier planet.
As I prepare for my 15th Climate Ride, I find myself reflecting on how far we’ve come—and how much further we must go. What once felt like raising money for a distant crisis is now a fight unfolding in real time. The effects of climate change are no longer theoretical; they are here, shaping our communities, our weather, and our future. That’s why I keep pedaling.

This year, my journey will take me through Maine’s forests, coastline, and small towns, covering 1,500 miles over 10 days before finishing in Boston—and possibly continuing all the way back to Glastonbury to raise even more awareness. While the miles I ride are important, what truly matters is the collective action we take to combat the climate crisis.
