Help Us Attain Our Goals

Helen Applebaum

Sierra Club Connecticut knows we will have to fight some uphill battles to achieve our goals—but we also know the dedication of Connecticut’s leaders and volunteers won’t stop. Our commitment to facing these challenges head-on is our key to winning at the local level.

You can make a lasting difference in Connecticut’s fight for clean air, water and public lands. It’s fast, it’s easy and it really matters. Numerous bills to slow or stop shale gas expansion have been introduced. SB 232 is close to our hearts - an Act Concerning the Allowable percentage of Leakage from Gas Pipelines. Based on an outside study we commissioned in Hartford, we know that the percentage exceeds what is allowed. So, we really want to see this legislation approved.

I’m asking you to invest in the work we do by signing up to become a monthly donor to Sierra Club Connecticut. For as little as $5 a month you can help change our future. All your donations stay local.

Here’s our strategy:

Right now our state legislative sessions are in high gear, and we are lobbying hard to protect wildlife, air, water and public lands — your contribution will ensure that we can organize, travel and meet with lawmakers. Read more about our legislative efforts in our February newsletter on the website www.connecticut.sierraclub.org/newsletter  and in the upcoming March newsletter as well.

With the environment under attack from the Trump administration, state and local efforts are more important than ever. Sierra Club Connecticut relies almost entirely on donors like you. Without you, we won’t be able to fight back. And 100% of your donation stays local.

That's why we're asking you to become a monthly donor to Connecticut today.

Go to our secure site, Donate to our Connecticut Chapter, and check the “Make a gift monthly” option under your gift amount if you would like to schedule a regular monthly donation.
