Sierra Club Endorsements 2022

The Results

We are very proud to announce that ALL of our Federal and Statewide endorsed candidates WON and 71% of our endorsed candidates for the CT General Assembly WON. You can check specific results below. We are looking forward to working with a strong environmental caucus in the coming session!

The Political Committee received a record number of applications for endorsement this year, reflecting Connecticut voters’ growing concern for the environment. The following candidates were selected for our endorsement based on their strong record of environmental action, or their potential to become legislative leaders in the transition to a more just and green future.

Ballot Measure

Connecticut Question 1, the Allow for Early Voting Amendment, is on the ballot in Connecticut as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. The amendment would amend the Connecticut State Constitution to allow the Connecticut General Assembly to pass laws to provide for early in-person voting. Currently, the state constitution does not allow for early voting, one of only five states that do not allow for early voting in some form.

The Sierra Club CT Executive Committee has endorsed the ballot measure, and
recommends a “yes” vote.
