This will be our last newsletter of 2023 and after a winter break, we’ll be back in February! As we’re looking forward to the holidays, get some wonderful suggestions for giving gifts with less waste and plastic, and find out how our chapter supports the zero waste movement.
Capitol Area System End of Year Recap
Catch up on our campaign to clean up the Capitol Area System. We are organizing and mobilizing with the Hartford community around this opportunity to replace a fossil fuel power plant with clean and renewable technologies. We’ve been spreading the word and demanding from leaders the transition to 100% clean energy. Add your voice!
2023 Sierra Club Connecticut Year in Activism
Looking back at the year, our chapter accomplished a lot with your help! There were many events to learn from each other and connect in our love of nature and drive to protect it. Protests in Four States to Stop Project Maple
The opposition to Enbridge's proposed fracked gas expansion plan in the Northeast, the so-called "Project Maple", started with a tremendous show of unity and resistance. Protests were held in one week in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, all states that will be impacted by construction of Project Maple.

Many of us are looking for ways to transition away from the traditional fossil fuel heating – to save our money and to save our environment.
